Responsibilities, Skills, and Abilities: 

  • The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of experience troubleshooting, diagnosing and repairing various diesel-powered, hydraulic and pneumatic rental equipment, specifically forklifts (preferably JCB SkyTrak), manlifts (Genie and JLG), telehandlers, lighting towers, and compressors, and Rig Equipment (Diesel driven pumps/electric screen washers/pressure washers/ pneumatic mud buckets) among others. A solid combination of these is a MUST.
  • Inspect returned rental equipment for damage, wear, and mechanical issues.
  • Diagnose and repair diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, transmissions, brakes, and undercarriages.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and scheduled services.
  • Troubleshoot equipment using diagnostic tools, service manuals, and electronic systems.
  • Prepare equipment for rental by ensuring it is clean, operational, and meets safety requirements.
  • Complete work orders and document parts, labor, repairs, and inspections.
  • Perform emergency and field repairs when necessary.
  • Inspect equipment before and after rental periods.
  • Communicate equipment problems and repair requirements with rental, service, and operations personnel.
  • Maintain a safe, organized shop and follow company safety procedures.
  • Maintain knowledge of manufacturer specifications and recommended maintenance procedures.

Requirements:
  • Must be at least 21 years of age and able to maintain insurability with Company insurance.
  • Must have at least two (2) years’ experience repairing general construction equipment.
  • Must have diesel repair experience including common rail fuel systems and the use of electronic diagnostic tools.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Valid drivers license
  • Ability to work as a team player in a fast-paced environment, with a strong work ethic and attention to detail to find root cause for equipment failures
  • Ability to work overtime as necessary outside of normally scheduled shift with little or no advance notification
  • Capable of performing a wide range of physical activities which include pulling, reaching, bending, climbing and kneeling
  • Experience with hydraulics/pneumatics, wiring, and working on heavy equipment
  • Proficient in reading and understand technical documents, diagrams, and service manuals
  • Welding, cutting, and fabrication skill
  • Must provide own basic tools and storage for them.
